DEPARTMENT: TECHNICAL SERVICES
DIVISION: ROADS – CONSTRUCTION & CONCRETE
WATER TRUCK DRIVER (1 POST)

Requirements:
• Ability to read and write
• Code EC Drivers licence with PDP
• Attention to detail
• Be able to work independently
• Must be able to communicate in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good verbal and written reporting, technical skills associated with driving and operating a water truck
• Supervisory and reporting skills
• 6 months’ relevant water truck / lorry driving experience
• Knowledge required in order to perform the job functions

Duties : Performs tasks / activities associated with the transporting of material and equipment / personnel with general driving of the water truck/Lorry and to prepare the working site and to deliver water to the re-gravel and construction sites.

Salary : R 141 993.00 – R 184 335.00 per annum (TASK grading 6)

• 3 Months relevant Experience

Duties : Performs tasks / activities related to general worker duties regarding construction and
maintenance works on surfaced and gravel roads; to ensure a good quality of roads in the
Roads Division within the West Coast District Municipality’s area of jurisdiction.

Salary : R 107 373.00 – R 126 754.00 per annum (TASK grading 3)

• Grade 12 or NTS 3 Trade Certificate obtained at a recognized accredited Trade Test Centre

• Semi-Computer Literate
• Mechanical maintenance skills

• Be able to work independently

• Good technical and calculating skills
• 3 years’ relevant workshop experience in a senior capacity

Duties : Performs activities/tasks associated to manage, monitor and co-ordinate the activities in the mechanical services sub-section to ensure the timely maintenance on plants and pump stations in the Water Purification section.

Salary : R 341 485.00 – R 443 271.00 per annum (TASK grading 12)

• Grade 10 with Maths and Science / any water subject NTS I, II or III / the Core Unit Standards of the Appropriate NQF 2 Qualification Water

• Be able to work independently
• Communicate effectively in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
• Good cleansing skills
• Attention to Detail
• 3 months relevant experience

Duties : Performs activities / tasks under supervision associated with the purification plant and
executing cleaning duties to ensure a quality water supply service to the consumer.
