Role Context

Ensuring DHL is compliant regarding all T-Docs and CUSCAR submissions to SARS/Customs – update and correct all docs prior to daily deadlines to minimise any penalties. (Reporting of conveyances and goods)

Key responsibilities

· To integrate quality into the business by ensuring that every customer contact is a demonstration of absolute dedication towards providing first time ideal solutions for the satisfaction of the customer’s immediate and future needs.

· To always implement ISO standards and Global SOP procedures.

Receipt of Shipment Information

· The information will be Available on DHL Clearance system in the various queues. Continually monitor the queue and action the shipment to obtain the required information.

· Ensure network updating through every step (from the time the entry is put on hold up to and including finalization of the on-hold entry).

Internal Relationship Management

· Prioritize work by flight departure and arrival dates. Reach out to IT or NCG team to obtain any missing documentation or request any updated/corrected documents from ACA team. Framing bills of entries

· Ensure that all entries are framed or reframed as per clearing instructions obtained from customers, simultaneously ensuring conformance to customs rules and regulations.

Finalizing Queries/Communications

· Upon finalization of T-Doc queries / resubmissions, make note of name, date and time and monitor time taken between submission Vs acknowledgement by customs. Any delays to be reported to the Supervisor/Manager.

Minimum Requirements

Education & experience

· Matric

· Customs related diploma added advantage.

· 2+ years’ experience within the customs courier industry (Both Imports and Exports)

· Fully conversant with the Customs and Excise Act of 1964, rules and regulations and ability to complete all relevant prescribed customs forms in terms of the Act

· Excellent knowledge of practices within the Customs Adjustment environment

· Maintains effective performance under pressure.
