ROLE SUMMARY
The Confirmations Clerk will be responsible for daily communication with medical aids, nursing staff and medical practitioners regarding confirmations of medical aids and payments.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The duties of the post include but are not limited to the following, and are carried out in accordance with Netcare’s
Policies and Procedures.
 Assist with the application of clinical knowledge in the risk management of patients in terms of length of stay, level of care and ICD and CPT coding.
 Handle information of a confidential nature.
 Ensure all patients have authorisation numbers.
 Ensure all information obtained from the medical aid is captured on system and conveyed/escalated appropriately.
 Assisting with bi-annual stock takes.
 Assisting with data capturing.
 Maintain and sustain effective working relationships with all customers and colleagues.
 Manage associated administrative tasks.
 Assist with any adhoc duties assigned by the Pharmacy Retail Manager or any senior member of staff.
 Assume responsibility for own personal and professional development.
 Keep up to date with Netcare’s evolving policies and procedures.

SKILLS PROFILE
EDUCATION

 Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification

WORK EXPERIENCE
 A minimum of 1 year reception/confirmation experience within a private sector is beneficial.
 Previous experience in a hospital environment.

KNOWLEDGE
 Computer literacy is essential.
 Knowledge of medical aids scale of benefits would be advantageous.
 SAP System would be advantageous.
