| Job Description General Worker – IND00236 – (220000D3) Description Position: General Worker EPWP (Fixed term contract ending June 2023) Department: Economic Development Division: Environmental Protection, Resilience & Project Management Salary: R4 356 per month Core Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance work around water bodies as well as terrestrial landscape Perform tasks involving physical labour around water bodies as well as terrestrial landscapes Assist with the maintenance i.e. cutting, removal and loading of reeds in natural resources around the City Manually remove litter, debris, plastic or any foreign material from water bodies (rivers, lakes and dams)Safely operate hand tools needed to carry daily activities Clean and assist with upkeep of facilities and tools Perform maintenance tasks based on instructions from the Supervisors Properly maintain and store equipment and materials in a safe secure and orderly manner Complete daily assignments in a timely and accurate manner NB: The posts as advertised above are Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) work opportunities that will be available for a certain contracted period only.
