Minimum job requirements
LOCATION: EBENEZER SCHEME – SCIENTIFIC SERVICES UNIT
MINIMUM SALARY: R733 974.68 per annum on a D-Lower Paterson Broadband (All-inclusive)
Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor of Technology in Microbiology or Chemistry with 5 years relevant experience in a SANAS Accredited Water/ Chemical Laboratory, of which 3 years must be at supervisory level. ISO 17025 Internal Audit course or Technical Assessor Certificate and A valid driver’s license are pre-requisite. Registration with professional body will be an added advantage.

Key responsibility
Reporting to the Scientific Services Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for: * Manages and supervises the activities of the Central laboratory to ensure delivery of accurate and timely Microbiology, Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry test results * Develops and manages a budget for the laboratory and maintains control of laboratory costs * Plans workload distribution and work schedule for subordinates * Ensures compliance of the laboratory quality control systems with ISO 17025 Accreditation * Water and waste water analysis in line with ISO 17025 and SANS 241 requirements * Tests new and improved laboratory methods and procedures * Evaluates quality control and quality assurance statistics * Compiles and maintains analytical methods and modifies laboratory manuals * Participates and consults with external quality control institutions that subscribe to ISO 17025 * Ensures compliance with all LNW’s policies and procedures, code of ethics and confidentiality
