Minimum Qualification

Grade 12 (Matric)

Minimum years relevant experience

Two years of working experience as a cleaner. Housekeeping and Customer services, be able to take instructions in the English language.

Minimum Requirements

  • Housekeeping Skills;
  • Always representable in a safety uniform;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Honest and trustworthy ;
  • Well-mannered and able to take instructions in English;
  • Punctuality and timekeeping;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management;
  • Ability to competently use industrial cleaning equipment e.g. to use rotary washer, buffing machines and ride-on scrubber drier ;
  • Excellent attention to detail and cleaning to a high standard;
  • Ability to deal with staff, public in a professional and helpful manner;
  • Basic health and safety qualifications/first aid training preferable; and
  • Experience of working with risk assessments and safe standards of work.
  • Experience in, and working knowledge of the Energy or Nuclear industry is highly preferred.

Job Description

To ensure that the NRWDI office facility is kept in a clean, hygienic and orderly condition, for the maintenance of the image of NRWDI and its staff.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • General office cleanliness and hygiene;
  • Management of refuse;
  • Management of cleaning material;
  • Services during meetings and events; and
  • Incidents and Reporting.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

  • Ensure that the dustbins are emptied regularly;
  • Clean the emptied bins in order to maintain hygiene;
  • Ensure that toilet papers, hand soaps, hand towels are replenished regularly;
  • Always keep the cleaning materials neat and clean;
  • Prepare the tea station during meetings and serve tea and refreshments;
  • Assist the managers and the visitors with serving tea and refreshments;
  • Provide services during NRWDI events as will be directed by management;
  • Fill in the cleaning register on a daily basis;
  • Report any damages and leakages;
  • Report any broken cleaning equipment; and
  • Report any infestations such as ants and cockroaches.

N.B. Background verification, including criminal record, credit checks, security clearances, qualification and citizenship checks, as well as competency assessment, will form part of the selection process for all the above positions.
