Job description
Principal Accountabilities

Responsible for coordinating, supporting and implementing the HR strategy within the business.
The role facilitates and ensures the implementation of HR initiatives to the bargaining unit.
Provides support to HR Manager to meet all HR related business requirements

Specific Responsibilities

Provide professional support to our internal customers and respond to queries in a timely manner.
Facilitate onboarding process
In collaboration with the HR Manager, ensure all statutory and legal / compliance requirements are fulfilled timeously i.e., EE reporting etc.
In conjunction with the HR Manager coordinate the corporate calendar for BOC
Maintain and manage the administration of all employee benefits on a monthly basis i.e. Medical Aid, etc. and assist employees with any queries relating to their benefits.
Manage and update organizational structure on Sage
Compile and submit weekly and monthly reports
Supervise the HR administrator and ensure that all general administration is up to date and accurate
In collaboration with the HR Manager, drive continuous improvement of all HR processes and procedures on a continuous basis.
Facilitate employment process including first-line recruitment, selection, and placement. This may consist of job advertising, skills testing of applicants, interviewing, salary negotiations, reference checking, and new employee onboarding.
Ensure employee records are maintained and updated
Draft employee related communications

Minimum requirements
Background Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or similar qualification
Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR Officer role
Knowledge of Sage 300 people/VIP Premier
knowledge of local labour laws – LRA, BCEA, EEA
Fluent in English
