Job Purpose
The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to provide an effective and efficient administrative and secretarial support services within the component. This post is based in Ladismith.

Minimum Requirements
Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification).

Recommendation

Secretarial diploma; Relevant experience; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.
Key Performance Areas
Provides the following: Secretarial support to the agricultural advisors; Administrative suppport to the agricultural advisors; General office administration; Secretariat and logistical support for all meetings and events; Travel to meetings and provide the necessary support; Liaise with all stakeholders related to the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme; Practicing the eight Batho Pele principles.
Competencies
A good understanding of general administration and secretarial duties; Proven computer literacy; Written and verbal communication skills; Sound organisation and leadership abilities; Ability to do the following: Work in a team, work under pressure, prepare and deliver good presentations.
Remuneration
R 176 310 per annum (Salary level 5) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
