Qualifications
• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
• National Diploma or Degree in Analytical Chemistry
Skills Requirements:
• Computer literacy and experience in working with MS Office
• Good knowledge and understanding of LIMS ,MES and SAP
• Knowledge of SANAS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (Laboratory Systems, Internal Auditing and be eligible to be appointed as Technical Signatory)
• Knowledge or understanding of Chrome ISO standards on sampling, sample preparation and chemical analysis
• Good understanding of recognized laboratory practices and quality systems
• Very strong administrative and interpersonal skills and portraying a professional image
• Knowledge of an industrial HSECQ system
• At least 5 years’ experience in a Ferrochrome Smelter laboratory environment
Job Objectives
The incumbent will be responsible for:
• Maintain and improve Laboratory SANAS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance
• Ensure compliance with Boshoek Smelter ISO requirements
• Investigate all non-conforming activities and customer complaints, and implement corrective and preventative actions
• Ensure the implementation & compliance of the Laboratory according to its Quality Manual Policy
• Evaluate the laboratory performance as per Laboratory Quality Manual
• Uncertainty of measurement and validation of results to be maintained and updated as per requirements
• Schedule and maintain service records of all laboratory equipment identified.
• Ensure training and competency of all laboratory employees is updated as per requirement
