NATIONAL RURAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS (NARYSEC)

The National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) is a youth skills development
and employment programme targeting unemployed young people residing in rural
areas. The programme provides youth with character building programmes, soft and
hard skills training and further dispatch the youth to rural communities to undertake
various development projects. The programme seeks to transform youth from rural
areas, from being job seekers to become job creators through the provision of
identified skills development opportunities aligned to community needs to break the
vicious cycle of poverty and social grants dependency.

The recruitment of youth into the NARYSEC programme is in line with the
District Development Model (DDM) and available economic opportunities i.e.
employment opportunities, enterprise development or furthering learning and
training. The duration of the training and contract will be determined by the
identified economic opportunity and training interventions. Successful
applicants will be trained in Agriculture (plant/crop production),
Hospitality / Tourism Guiding and Event Support and Carpentry.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be:
• Between 18 – 35 years of age (strictly).
• Grade 12 certificate (N.B. no post matric qualifications)
• Not employed.
• Not studying with any tertiary institution.
• No criminal record
Not pregnant by the time of applying into NARYSEC programme

Successful applicants will be paid a monthly stipend of R1320.00.

NB: Only applications from Maruleng Local Municipality will be considered. Applicants
from all racial groups including those with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

and community leaders (Traditional Leadership and Ward Councilor). NB:
Applications to be submitted at Thusong Centre (Ga-Sekororo) or emailed to

Completed application form must be submitted with the following attachments:
• Grade 12 Certificate / statement of results
• I.D. Copy
• Confirmation of proof of Residence
• Curriculum Vitae with at least 2 Referees

Certified copies will be required only from the shortlisted candidates.
