Position: Data Analyst

Purpose of the job
To ensure Data solution applications incorporate industry standards and best practices; and to
provide business with the capability to do self service data analytics.
Key Responsibilities
● Analyse results using statistical/analytical techniques and provide ongoing reports and
dashboards
● Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
● Reporting writing – Extract reports/ data analysis for business use
● Run ad hoc in-depth analysis across different data sources
● Leverage data to find new ways of analysing key metrics
● Maintain BI reports and dashboards on different data reporting platforms
● Test and validate solutions in accordance with specifications and business requirements
● Visualize data using appropriate tools
● Write SQLs where applicable
● Utilize data solutions tool sets
● Liaise with relevant internal and third party Vendors
● Develop an understanding of the source of data and it’s business meaning
● Data integration and migration
● Data interface completeness, cutoff review and ensuring data issues are resolved timeously
● Technical and support function
● Work closely with segment managers post go-live reporting and analysis
● Understand the business data flows and consumption of data in order to create new analysis
that will highlight areas of improvement
Training /Knowledge acquisition and transfer
● Training manuals integrated with specifications / other like video
● Attend relevant seminars and conferences; assess how information gained can be applied to
Pep; and incorporate insight into proposals
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
● Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analysis or Informatics or equivalent
● Experience in an analytics role including understanding of database structures design and
data extraction principles
● Ability to deliver in a fast moving environment
● SQL query writing skills is essential, min 3 years of experience (SQL Server will be
advantageous)
● Experience in data reporting packages will be an added advantage (e.g. Power BI, Tableau GCP
Data Studio)
● BI experience (advantageous)
● Finance experience (advantageous)
● SAP or SAP Hana (advantageous)
● Self-motivated driver of performance who is passionate about data and analysis
● Ability to critically analyze and problem solve
● Self driven learner
● Agile methodology knowledge/experience (advantageous)
Competencies: Team player, cooperation, drive, presentation skills, self motivation, negotiation skills;
facilitation skills
