| Job Purpose | The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of programs related to extermination of disease vectors and pest control operations in order to ensure support for the delivery of a Vector Control service for the eThekwini Municipal area within the framework of the Council IDP. |
| Key Responsibility Areas | •Performs specific tasks/activities associated with functions in the section. •Performs specific tasks/activities associated with the control of staff and equipment. •Conduct operational supervision of tasks and activities associated with the performance and productivity of work output. •Provides support and participate in tasks/activities associated with the sectional training program •Performs specific administrative tasks/activities associated with the operational output of the section. •Enforces relevant bylaws and legislation |
| Essential Requirements | •Matric/Grade 12. •Valid First Aid Certificate to be obtainable within 12 months of assumption of duty. •Must become a Peace Officer within 12 months of assuming duty. •Current registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa as an Environmental Health Assistant. •Valid motor vehicle drivers license (Code B). •2 Years relevant experience Special Conditions: •Must not have a criminal record. •Must be in possession of a SAPS clearance certificate which is no more than six (6) months old. •Annual police clearance certificate must be obtained by incumbents. The ability to remain registered as a Peace Officer may require termination of service. |
