Our client is in the waste management sector is looking to hire a business/data analyst for a 12-month internship position.
The requirements of an overall Data Analyst that will hone in on Business Analyses as well as Business Intelligence. The Business Analyst (BA) will need to translate business and system needs into requirements for the Group Finance Manager and other business users to consume. The BA will use requirements elicitation, analysis, specification verification techniques for the purpose. The BA may work on multiple requests simultaneously, for more than one user department. The BA may be engaged in work efforts at various scales ranging from minor defects fixes and enhancements to assistance with development of new applications.
The BA will be responsible for organizing data related to sales numbers, market research, logistics, financial metrics and other behavioural qualitative data. It is expected that the BA will use his/her technical expertise to ensure data is accurate and high-quality. Data would then be analysed, designed, and presented in a way that assists individuals, departments and the senior management team make better decisions.
The BA will also demonstrate a knowledge of the software development lifecycle and AGILE methodology.

- Experience in handling reporting packages like Business Objects, programming (Javascript, XML, or ETL frameworks), databases
- Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SPSS, SAS to be used for data set analysing
- Adept at using data processing platforms like Hadoop and Apache Spark
- Knowledge of data visualization software like Tableau, Qlik
- Knowledge of how to create and apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets in order to find solutions
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations
- Team-working skills
- Verbal and Written communication skills
