The ideal applicant will meet the following requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 (Standard 10)
- Mining National Diploma/Degree will be advantageous
- Blasting Certificate Fiery Mines
- Flame proof and Gas Testing Certificate
- Competent “A” Certificate
- Driver’s license
- Computer literacy
- Supervisory Development qualification will be advantageous
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 to 4 years general underground mining
- Experience in stonework conveyors, CM mining methods, stooping, Backbye and cost control
- Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling
SKILLS ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to work under pressure
- Safety and Coal orientated
- Good communication, presentation and business writing
- Good leadership skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safety: Ensure compliance to all safety rules and regulations, ensure that daily risk assessment /PTO’s are done & partake in incident /accident investigations.Operations: Ensure all the standards and procedures are complied to (special instructions), partake in daily planning/ review and action plan. Ensure daily production targets of own section are met, ensure that material/equipment are available and provides technical advice to crew.
- Cutting Sequence: Ensure that the cutting sequence are up to SOP’s and adhered.
- People Management: Ensure that the section is staffed, discipline is managed and there is motivated team to meet the target.
- Cost: Section cost management.
- End of Shift: Complete logbook, provide operational feedback to MO, ensure shift clearance of dedicated people ID did daily and from time to time has to clear the whole shift.
