A promising permanent career opportunity exists for a suitable applicant in the Gelukstroom Blueberry farm department within Chiltern, a dynamic Agri business in the Vyeboom area near Villiersdorp. Key Performance Areas:
The successful applicants will be required to:
• Ensure correct working methods and procedures are adhered to with regard to food safety and hygiene.
• Report relevant production information to assist management in taking well informed decisions.
• Minimise downtime through effective planning and communication.
• Effective management of all administrative tasks.
• Coordinate activities for new Orchard development.
• Manage Netafin fertigation machines for correct EC, ph. and irrigation.
• Responsible for scheduling irrigation.
• Control and check of daily irrigation via run off stations.
• Capturing and analyse data on Farm Trace.
• Control of pumps between dams.
• Control and maintenance of irrigation equipment.
Requirements of the job:
The successful candidate must have the following skills, knowledge, experience, and personal attributes:
• Grade 12.
• A relevant qualification within Agriculture will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 4-5 years prior experience in a leadership role within an agricultural environment will be
advantageous.
• Knowledge and experience of fertigation will be advantageous.
• Basic computer skills will be advantageous.
• Knowledge and experience of Netafin and Motorola systems will be advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to speak and write in English, IsiXhosa will be advantageous.
• Must be able to work on overtime and on weekends.
• Must be physical fit.
