The National Research Foundation (NRF) supports and promotes research and human capital development through funding, the provision of National Research Facilities and science outreach platforms and programmes to the broader community in all fields of science and technology, including natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities.
The Grants Management and System Administration (GMSA)·s directorate requires a candidate to undertake the administrative functions required for grant management. It will require regular communication with the applicants (researchers) and grantholders on grant administration related activities.
The National Research Foundation seeks to appoint an Administrative Assistant within the Grant Management and Systems Administration (GMSA) Directorate.
Provide Administrative Support within directorate to Director and staff members
Key Responsibilities:
- General office administration
- Office financial monitoring and administration
- Proactively managing the Director·s diary
- Maintaining a filing system
- Supporting the directorate in the implementation of projects in a matrix environment
- Organising workshops and meetings including taking minutes
- Arranging logistics for local and international travel
- Handling and processing communication to the office (e.g. e-mail, telephone, fax, mail)
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in the creation of grants and grants administratio
Key Requirements:
Qualification:
- At least a Grade 12 certificate
- Two years proven experience in all aspects of professional office administration
Experience:
- Ability to manage time and to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and within teams.
Knowledge:
- Good financial administration / procurement experience
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven competency in the use of MS Office suite, particularly with MS Word and Excel,
- Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of stakeholders
