Main Purpose of the Role:
Provide high quality cleaning of offices to create a hygienic working environment and to provide refreshments to co-workers and visitors
Cleaning:
Kitchen
- Sanitise all frequently touched surfaces
- Clean the kitchen area, counter, sink, drying trays and floors
- Wash cups and utensils at regular intervals throughout the day
- Wipe wall tiles and cupboards
- Wash dish and dusting cloths
- Wipe appliances (fridges, microwave ovens, toasters, urns) to be wiped with hygienic detergents
- Defrost and clean fridge
Bathrooms
- Sanitise all frequently touched surfaces
- Clean ladies and men bathrooms daily
- Clean basins, toilet, and urinals daily
- Timely replenishment of toilet paper holders
- Keep adequate stock of air fresheners and other sanitary supplies
- Regularly check that the hygiene equipment is fully operational
Offices
- Empty all bins every afternoon
- Empty shredder and clean surrounding areas (daily)
- Ensure that photocopier paper is replenished when necessary.
- Vacuum all offices, couches, office chairs
- Sweep and mop the landing/foyer area, external and internal stairways
- Request deep carpet cleaning at least twice a year or soonest to any major spillage or staining
- Wipe office blinds, windowsills, picture frames and floor skirting (once a week) with a cloth or a feather duster
- Wipe glass panels, glass doors and inside of windows with a glass cleaner (once a week)
- Wipe dirty marks on walls, doors, plug covers, entrance buzzers
Refreshment Station
- Set up tea/coffee station at the designated tea area
- At all times keep tea, coffee and sugar canisters filled and have milk available
- Offer and serve tea/coffee/refreshments to visitors attending meetings
- Keep designated tea areas clean throughout the day
- Water cooler to be wiped daily and water replenished as and when required
Stock Replenishment and Housekeeping
- Request order of bottled water for the cooler as soon as safety stock level is reached, to safely store empty water bottles and ensure collection by the supplier
- Request order of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and cleaning materials in time to avoid any out of stocks
- Accept delivery of groceries, advise of any stock discrepancies within 24 hours and on a weekly basis,
- To refill Steiner sanitary hygiene equipment, to report any malfunctioning hygiene equipment and to secure prompt repair.
- To keep sufficient Steiner sanitary consumables stock and advise timeously of any over or under supply so that appropriate action can be taken to adjust quantity or to temporary suspend stock supply
- Promptly report any general maintenance problems (appliances, lighting, plumbing, etc)
- Perform best practice waste disposal methods
Other Duties
- Setting up of classrooms as required for meetings and trainings
- Binding of manuals

Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Matric / grade 12
- 1 year working experience
- Previous cleaning experience
Knowledge:
- Prior cleaning knowledge
- Health and Safety
- Waste disposal management
