RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be responsible for: Performing administration of activities with regard to student applications, student administration, student records and examinations related to the post-basic programmes; Performing administration related to the post-basic programmes, including processing of related correspondence, taking of minutes during meetings, assisting with accreditation activities, etc.; Perform administration related to the South African Nursing Council’s (SANC) requirements for nursing education institutions, such as learner registration of students, completion for registration of programmes with SANC, and student enquiries related to SANC registration; Create and sustain filing systems related to practical requirements by the respective post-basic programmes, accreditation of facilities, assessment of students, SANC-related requirements, etc.; Performing ad hoc tasks within the Department as determined by line-manager from time-to-time; Keep the line-manager informed about processes and student-related issues. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: An relevant three-year National Diploma in Office Management/Administration with one year office administrative experience in a tertiary environment OR Grade 12 plus with three years office administrative experience in a tertiary environment REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES): Computer literacy with broad knowledge and experience in using PeopleSoft, MS Word, Excel, Gmail and the internet; Strong interpersonal skills, highly organised and a keen commitment to excellence; The ability to liaise and communicate effectively on all levels within the organisation and with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures; Ability to work independently and participate effectively within a team; Meticulous and the ability to maintain high level of discretion and confidentiality; Excellent verbal and written language and communication skills; Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Knowledge of student administration; Knowledge of institutional bodies such as South African Nursing Council (SANC). ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES: B degree in Administration; Experience in using PeopleSoft; Experience of working with SANC or similar professional body. The total remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
