RequirementsMinimum requirement: Basic numeracy and literacy. Experience: Appropriate knowledge of working in a health environment. Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to work shifts, weekends and on public holidays. Willingness to handle bodies (corpses). Ability to perform tasks such as lifting patient’s from/onto beds, trolleys and wheelchairs. Willingness to work in a team.Must be of sober habits. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Duties (key result areas/outputs): Transport corpses from ward to bereavement room. Collecting and delivering of blood specimens, blood hampers and patient folders. Ensure and effective porter service to clients and management by safe transporting of patients on trolleys and wheelchairs, within various areas in the hospital. Maintenance of equipment by ensuring all equipment are taken care of, ensure a safe and hygienic work environment as well as collecting and cleaning of equipment. Maintain sound interpersonal Relations by promoting a conductive working environment. Adhere to dress code and code of conduct. Note: No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. |
