Merchandise Controller

Purpose of the job
The main purpose of the job of a merchandise controller is to allocate the right stock in the right quantities at the right time to the right stores, according to plan and current store performance, in order to optimize the balance between service and stock levels
Key Responsibilities
- Allocated Stock
- Manage DC Stock
- Resolved store orders and enquiries
- Updated activity records – Budget book
- Created styles
- Allocated stock to new stores
- Resolve customer stock queries
- Ad hoc support tasks (e.g. collating information; QC follow-ups; etc.)
- Actioned COSTI’s
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 (Mathematics and Business Economics will be an advantage)
- Computer literate (MS Office – Excel)
- Commercial or retail experience, particularly allocations experience will be advantage
- Merchandise Management System
- Distribution Center exposure
- Competencies: Problem assessment; Detail orientation; Service orientation; Planning, organizing and control; Stress tolerance and Building and maintaining relationships
