MUNICIPAL FINANCE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

                                                             (5 POSTS)

                                                             3 YEAR CONTRACT

                                                             MN20/ 2022

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and or experienced persons for the above – mentioned positions.

Requirements:

The applicant must have a recognized tertiary qualification in either of the following: B Com Accounting or a National Diploma in Financial Accounting or Management Accounting

Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Verbal and Written)

● The successful applicant must be computer literate in MS Office, and must possess analytical and numerical skills

Knowledge of local government legislation would be an added advantage.

Duties:

Assist with preparation of multi-year annual budgets

● Assist in monitoring budgetary expenditure and income against monthly actuals  

● Prepare monthly returns to National and Provincial Treasury, Statistics SA and other external government agencies /departments  

● Prepare monthly budgetary reports to Council and Portfolio Committees

● Assist in the preparation of Annual Financial Statements

● Assist in the maintenance and record keeping of assets

● Assist in ensuring compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act, No. 56 of 2003, and other relevant legislation  

● Various other duties as required within the Finance Department

Salary: The annual remuneration package of the intern is R100 000.00 total cost to company.
