Position: Stores Assistant – Pharmacy
Introduction
A vacancy exists for a Stores Assistant based at Life Faerie Glen Hospital, reporting to the Senior Stock Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for and will contribute to the effective management of stock in the Pharmacy as well as the rest of the hospital.Critical Outputs
- Receiving and packing of stock received.
- Assist with & manage stock distribution to units through auto transfers.
- Assist with cycle counts and stock takes in Pharmacy and in the wards.
- Maintain item codes for the wards and Pharmacy Effective utilization of reports to manage stock.
- Management of dead stock in Pharmacy and wards.
- Assist with stock management related to expiry dates, damaged stock, stock rotation and all ad hoc activities.
- Regular pick-up and delivery of prescriptions between Wards and Pharmacy.
- Assist with general clerical / admin duties in the Pharmacy.
Requirements
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
- Stock management experience within a LHC Hospital Surgical Store is essential.
- Be available to work extra hours when needed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Other important competencies are partnership building, customer orientation and willingness to be multi skilled.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure is crucial.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of SAP, Impilo billing and stock control systems will be beneficial.
- Physical strength to work with heavy stock boxes, trolleys and packing of stock on high shelves – correct pick up and safe work procedures.
